I am 17F. I had a dream last night that I had a huge pet snail. I’m talking the size of my arm. In the dream, the snail was always in my arms. I went into the fridge, and found a jar of olives. They looked normal, a little discolored, but normal. I ate 5 of them, and immediately had a stomach ache. My cousins came in the room, and said “girl, I hope you didn’t eat those olives, they are from 2002.” And I immediately tried to throw up, but it wouldn’t work. So I went outside and played with my snail and the dream ended. I do have a jar of olives in my fridge in real life, and last time I ate them, they made me sick. I checked the date after eating them, and sure enough, they had expired. I do not have a pet snail, however.
Dreams can often reflect our thoughts, feelings, and experiences, sometimes in symbolic ways. Let’s break down some elements of your dream:
The Snail: A large snail might symbolize something in your life that is slow-moving or requires patience. Since it was in your arms, it could represent something you care for deeply or an aspect of yourself that you are nurturing. Snails also have shells, which can symbolize protection or a need for security.
The Olives: Eating olives that looked normal but were actually expired could signify a situation or decision in your life that seems fine on the surface but may have underlying issues. Given your real-life experience with eating expired olives, this part of the dream could also reflect a recent negative experience or a fear of making a poor choice that leads to undesirable consequences.
Stomach Ache: A stomach ache often represents anxiety, guilt, or emotional discomfort. In the context of your dream, it could suggest that you are worried about a decision you made or a situation you’re involved in, especially if you’ve had experiences with food causing you discomfort before.
Playing with the Snail: Ending the dream by playing with the snail might highlight a desire to find joy or comfort in nurturing aspects of your life, despite any discomfort or anxiety you might be feeling from other areas. It could reflect a need to return to a place of safety after experiencing stress.
Overall, your dream seems to be a mix of reflecting your real-life experiences with food, potential anxieties about decision-making, and a desire for comfort and care. It might encourage you to be more mindful of what you consume—both literally and metaphorically—and to take your time with decisions, just like the slow-moving snail.
